Jack Pierce
DEPUTY DIRECTOR
From September 2024, Jack will be the Deputy Director at The Arts Centre Telford. He will be responsible for community, communication and operations across the organisation.
Jack is a qualified teacher with a degree in education, as well as holding diplomas in specialist music teaching. As a professional musician, Jack is a pianist, singer and musical director. Jack’s musicianship and experience in the arts, combined with outstanding teaching and learning, allows him to be inspire young performers to become the best they can be.
Proud of his Newport and Shropshire roots, Jack was delighted to join the team at The Arts Centre Telford in 2015, teaching singing and drama, as well as musically directing concerts and musicals for TACT. Jack was the founding Musical Director for A Choired Taste, a popular community choir (originally in Newport), which he is now pleased to be able to lead from TACT.
By day, Jack is Head of Music & Performing Arts at Brownhills Ormiston Academy. Jack previously taught at Broadway Academy in Birmingham, Wrekin College in Telford, and Alumwell Junior School in Walsall.
Jack is the frontman of Fine Mess, a professional function band who play at weddings and events across the Midlands.
Before studying education, Jack studied piano and music theory under RCM professor Nicholas Moor, as well as musical theatre and popular music vocals to advanced diploma standard.
Jack was previously a Singing Lecturer for Coventry City Council, and he conducted the Birmingham City Council Workplace Choirs as part of the Gareth Malone initiative. For 18 months, Jack was Head of Music at Starlight Dance & Musical Theatre School in Kettering.
Recent credits as a Musical Director include Spamalot, 9 to 5, Legally Blonde, Scrooge the Musical, High School Musical, Sister Act, Peter Pan, Carousel, All Shook Up, Grease & Matilda. Jack has been musical director for all of TACT’s much-loved ‘In Concert’ productions.
